Reading: March 15,2002 Oh boy, it's been 2 years since I have updated here, as soon as I figure out how to archive, I will shorten this up a bit. I am currently reading "Carolina Moon" by Nora Roberts. It was given to me by one of the girls from Tupperware, she reads, then she shares. I am almost at the end and it was alot better than I would have thought it to be. Not to mushy, love type book, which I particulary don't care for. I also have my head stuck in the "Product Information" from Tupperware to learn all about their wonderful products.
August 29,2000 Jeez, I haven't updated here in a while!! I finished The Oath and wasn't that impressed with it. It felt like it was taking forever to finish the darn thing. So then I started reading Cat and Mouse by James Patterson. That was a great book. But I think that Patterson has more books with the Alex Cross character in them that started before this one. So no I guess I have to figure out which order I was supposed to read them in. If anyone is actually reading this and knows the correct order, please let me know, thanks in advance!! Well, I have long since finished that one and I am now currently reading Dark Rivers of the Heart by Dean Koontz. So far it's a great read.
July 23, 2000 I finished Midnight Club. It was quite gory in some parts but I wasn't disappointed in the book at all. I will probably read a few more of his books. Right now I am reading The Oath by Frank Peretti. So far it is an easy read.
July 13,2000 I have spent the last month reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Ah, I became sophistcated and read a classic. It felt like FOREVER getting throught that book at times, a slow read. But my sister and I decided to pick a classic and read it together, then analyze it and so on here on our web pages just for the hell of it. So we need to get on the ball with that before I forget what the book was about. So now I am back to what I would call my "regular" reading. I started Midnight Club by James Patterson, who is know for his books Kiss the Girls and a few others I now own, but have not read yet. So far I really like it.
June 6,2000 I started to read Clear and Present Danger by Tom Clancy but after Chapter 20 I became so lost that I stopped reading it for now. I'm not sure if I couldn't follow it because I had too much going on in the back of my head for the story or if I am to stupid to follow 5 or more stories going on at once in one book. Maybe I'll start it again in a few months. When Linda was in town, she left me her copy of The Rapture of Canaan by Sheri Reynolds. I read that book in 3 days, it wasn't so much that it had an awesome plot or anything like that. I just really enjoyed the book. It's the first book that I have read in a long time that wasn't a "murder, myster, suspense, government conspiracy, courtroon drama" kinda book. Maybe that's why I read it so fast. But it is one that I would recommend reading, just for a change of pace.
May 8,2000 Wow!! I guess I haven't updated in awhile!! Well, I just finished reading Mortal Fear. My analysis...not one of the best books I have ever read, but I really enjoyed it. I really like books that take alot of twists and turns and this one certainly lived up to my expectations in that department. I just started reading Fatal Cure by Robin Cook. He is a medical thriller kind of guy. Just up my alley :) I am only on Chapter 3 because everytime I start reading, I fall asleep. Hope this isn't any indication of what this book will be like. As usual, I will let you all know
May 29,2000 Finished Fatal Cure, great book. Nothing that really puts it apart from any other books. Although, it really made me think about all these kick-backs that doctors get from NOT sending their patients to the emergency room, but let me get off that soap box 'cause I could go on for hours about doctors, HMO's, etc....
April 23,2000 Well I finished Messiah yesterday. What a book. Maybe I'm just clueless, but it seemed that everytime you thought you had figured out who "Silver Tongue" was, it wasn't. A really good read. Of course it's one of those books that you will probably never read again because you already know who does it. I started reading Mortal Fear by Greg Iles. I'm only on chapter 8. So far, I like it. It is like a murder mystery with sexual under tones. I got it from my mom. I'll keep you posted.
April 21,2000 I am still reading Messiah. Which is actually turning out to be a pretty darn good book. It really keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. The murderer "Silver Tongue" is one messed up man.
April 9,2000 Well, I finished up Still Waters and I am now reading Messiah by Boris Starling. I picked it up when Books a Million went out of business for like 25% off the cover price. It says its supposed to be "The most terrifying thriller since The Silence of the Lambs" So far it's pretty gory. The author
March 23,2000 I just finished reading "Word Of Honor" by Nelson
Demille who is also the author of "The General's Daughter". If you enjoy
reading about Vietnam or courtroom dramas, this is a good one. I just started
reading "Still Waters" by Tammi Hoag. I'm up to Chapter 14 and so far so
good. My favorite authors are Patricia Cornwell and V.C. Andrews
Music:
March 15, 2002 U2, U2, U2...need I say anymore??
August 29,2000 All i have been listening to is Cinderella and Dokken!! We are heading out this Sunday to see them again so I don't want to look like a looser so I am memorizing mass quantities of lyrics!! Right now I can't stop listening to "It's Not Love" by Dokken. I have no idea why, but I can't get that song out of my head!! AHHH!!!
July 23,2000 After seeing Cinderella in concert, I am an official fan!! All I have been listening to is a tape of Cinderella songs that Tish made me. I've also been listening to the new songs off "Power to the People" CC's song "I hate every bone in your body but mine" just cracks me up. I love the new songs so much!! Crack a Smile did not impress me. Now that CC is there, it TOTAL Poison.
July 13,2000 STILL listening to Slaughter's "Back to Reality" getting pumped for the concert in like 2 days!!! ROCK ON!!!
June 6,2000 Remember how I mentioned that my tape player was broke? Well, Jim went out there today to "fix" it and it works just fine. I think that cassette player has it in for me. So tomorrow I am looking forward to popping in a CD on the way to work..probably a Slaugher CD. (Did you really think that it would be anyone other than them????)
Do you want to hear something really pitiful??? I can't get that darn Britany Spears song out of my friggin' head.
May 29,2000 Yeah, got a portable CD player for the car...BOO, the tape player is now messed up and I can't play CD's. So now I am stuck listening to the horrible satan radio stations around here that play a good song every 2 days!!!!! I did have a "looser" moment and purchased Slim Shady's new album....ok, i like that song "The Real Slim-Shady" The man cracks me up, he just says shit and keeps on saying it. I don't really consider myself a fan of his music, but the album has some funny stuff on it. Don't care for all of it, but it's worth a listen if you are not easily offended.
May 8,2000 I am still stuck on my Slaughter CD and Warrant. I just can't seem to get enough of these guys!!
April 28,2000 Well, I FINALLY went out and got Pantera's new one. I am truely impressed by it. It reminds me more of the older stuff than the tunes off of "Far Beyond Drive." It was worth the 4 year wait!! I also picked up Poison's "new" on Crack A Smile. I have to say that it is a great Poison album. But I also think that it is not one of their better ones. I think I just enjoy Poison alot more with C.C. DeVille on guitar. He is what really gives them their sound. Just my opinion.....
April 21,2000 Jim and I have spent some 30+ hours on the road in the past week due to my mother's death. We listened to Double Drive, Warrant, Slaughter, Every Mother's Nightmare. And radio tunes. Anything to distract from the bordom of I-95. Right now "Thousand Yard Stare" by Double Drive is playing in my mind. How appropriate since we were in the car for 8 hours today starring into nowhere.
April 9, 2000 Hmm, I have been listening to KISS, Psycho Circus like non-stop for the past week. I'm really getting pumped for the concert on Tuesday!! Only 2 more days until I get to see them...YEAH!! I can't get the song "Within" out of my mind. Gene Simmons has a bad-ass vioce. I just can't stop listening to that song, I hope that they play it live
March 23,2000 In my car right now I have Warrant "Greatest and
Latest, Slaughter "Back To Reality" and a bunch of KISS tapes. A bunch of
us are heading out to Orlando Arena on April 11,2000 to finally see them!!
I'll be sure to let everyone know how that went!! YUMMY, Paul Stanley........
In my husbands car right now he has Megadeth"Risk" which is a pretty kick-butt
album. We saw them at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando a few months ago, Double
Drive opened for them. I highly recommend their album too!!
Right now the two songs that keep playing in the back of my head are "Thin
Disguise" by Warrant and "Deuce" by KISS. But of course that's subject to
change at anytime
